Permission

Plain language. Nothing hidden. Nothing you can’t undo.

Somebody from The Krewelings has asked you for one of two things — permission to share something you said, or permission to photograph your child. This page sets out exactly what we are asking, and exactly what we will never do. Please read the part that applies to you before you say yes.

Saying no is completely fine, changes nothing, and we will not ask twice.

1. Permission to share your words

For a teacher, counselor, clinician, librarian or parent who has told us what they thought of The Krewelings.

What we are asking for

Permission to publish the statement you gave us — on our website, and in marketing materials where it genuinely fits, such as a product page, a brochure, a slide deck, a social post, or a letter to a school.

Tell us which of these you are comfortable with

  • My name and my professional credentials. For example: “Susan Ward, LCSW · Psychotherapist.” Without this a statement is anonymous, which is far less useful to a reader trying to decide whether to trust it.
  • My photograph or headshot. Optional. If you say yes, send us the photo you would like used and we will never use any other image of you.
  • The name of my employer or organization. Please check your employer’s policy first — many organizations require their own approval. We would far rather you left this out than be put in an awkward position.
  • Light edits for length and clarity. Trimming and tidying only. We will never change what you meant and never add words you did not say.

What we promise you

  • You can change your mind at any time. Email us and say so — no reason needed. We will take your statement down and stop using it in anything new within 14 days. We cannot recall what is already printed or mailed, but we stop reprinting it.
  • We will never use your words to endorse something you did not review. Your statement stays attached to what you actually saw.
  • We will always say plainly what our relationship is — friend, colleague, or someone we had never met — and whether you received any payment or product. That is your protection as much as ours.
  • We are not paying you, and this is not a contract for anything else. You owe us nothing.

2. Permission to photograph your child

For a parent or guardian. One per child.

What we are asking for

We would like to take a few photographs while children are using The Krewelings — the cards, the workbook, or the posters — so we can show real classrooms to other teachers and families. We will not take or use a single photograph of your child unless you say yes. Saying no changes nothing for your child: they take part in everything exactly the same way either way, and no one in the room will know what you chose.

Tell us which of these you are comfortable with

  • Photographs or video may be taken of my child. If this is a no, nothing else here applies and your child will not be in any picture.
  • My child’s face may be shown. If this is a no but the first is a yes, we will only use pictures where your child cannot be identified — hands, the back of a head, or a child at a distance.
  • Photographs may be used online. Our website and our own social media. Please know that anything published online can be saved or re-shared by other people; we can remove our copy, but we cannot recall someone else’s.
  • Photographs may be used in print and in press materials. Brochures, product materials, a press kit, or an article written about The Krewelings by a journalist.
  • My child’s first name may be used. First name only, never a surname. Most families say no to this, and a photograph with no name at all is just as useful to us.

What we promise you

  • You can change your mind at any time. Email us — no reason needed. The picture comes down and stops being used in anything new within 14 days.
  • We will never publish your child’s full name, school, or location. No surname, no school name, no city — nothing that would help a stranger work out where your child can be found.
  • We will never collect information from your child. We correspond only with adults. Your child is never asked for a name, an email address, or anything else, here or anywhere else.
  • We will never sell or license these photographs. They are used by us, to show our own work. They do not go to a stock library and they are not passed on.
  • We are not paying you, and this is not a contract for anything else.
Give permission by email

Opens an email with the wording already filled in. Change the YES / NO answers and hit send. If you would rather have a paper copy to sign, just ask and we will send one.

Teachers: the photo permission is one form per child. If any child in the room has no permission on file, please tell us before we photograph.

Questions before you decide? Just ask. We would far rather answer three questions now than have you agree to something you were unsure about. Write to hello@thekrewelings.com — a real person answers.
